Cody Simpson can truly do it all. The Australian babe just released his new original song, “Flower,” a few weeks ago, but he’s already back to recording cover videos, too!
The latest song the 18-year-old dude has covered? The infamous “No Woman, No Cry” by reggae master Bob Marley. Cody explained that he wanted to record the classic song because of its totally-positive message.
“Decided to produce my own version of this tune for kicks. We need music with a message! Marley stood for freedom, peace love and equality. All very much in line with my own beliefs in life. Decided to just pay tribute to Bob the champ with a little cover, as he’s inspires much of what I do. Hope you enjoy this alongside the other ones up on the tube. Writing out on my patio as we speak, let’s inspire this world. Poetry and meaning. We are all equal, so let go your ego!” Cody wrote on Instagram.
In the video, Cody’s voice sounds amazing and the scenery is gooorgeous. The video shows Cody hanging out, singing and playing his guitar in all his fave places! That includes the recording studio, the hills of Malibu and right next to some calming and crashing waves. Cody’s a true beach babe, and this video shows that. Did you know he was born on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, and has been in the water his whole life? Cody actually almost went to the Olympics as a kid for swimming — he’s that much of a fish in the water.
Our only question after watching this dreamy video is: What CAN’T Cody do? The pop star turned mellow rocker is killing it with his new vibes.
