The entire social media world came to a halt today when the most followed Instagram account in the world was put on private. Selena Gomez put her Insta on private to only her 130 million followers after something that should have been a happy occasion. ICYMI, Sel was recently named Billboard‘s Woman Of The Year, which is a huge honor. Along with the title, Selena was given a Billboard cover story… which is exactly where things went awry. Here’s what happened:
On Selena’s Instagram story, she posted a screenshot of her Billboard cover story. The screenshotted text depicts an interaction where the reported walked into Selena’s home to find a massive five foot tall teddy bear. The text says “There’s a five-foot teddy bear sprawled across the kitchen floor in Selena Gomez’s North Hollywood home. ‘I know, I know,’ says Gomez, rolling her eyes, acknowledging that the stuffed animal doesn’t quite blend with the trio of armchairs nestled in the inviting, marble-accented nook. ‘It was a gift, and at first I thought, ‘This is so ridiculous, I can’t wait until I give it away to another person.’ But Gomez, 25, hasn’t let go of it — yet.”
Selena was clearly unhappy with the way this reported remembers their interaction happening, because over the text she wrote her own message. “Never will I let another human being guess my words ever again. Or invite them in my home,” she posted in her Instagram story. Shortly after, she made her account private. Uh-oh.
